Wow. Competition was a blast! Everyone did a great job in the robot challenge, the presentation, and during all of the judging sessions. It was a whirlwind of activity and excitement and Team Proteus did a wonderful job. It took a little time for the group to get going on the challenge table, starting off with 77, and 53 scores in the first two rounds. They stepped up their game and finished second overall with a 252. For the final event Team Proteus achieved the highest score of the day with a 320! There was dancing, clapping, and fox noises; not to mention tons of laughter and smiles.
The kids put in a tremendous amount of work and coupled with the support of great parents and coaches, Team Proteus 2013 was a great success. Thank you to everyone involved and look out for great things from the group in 2014.
The highlight of the day, Team Proteus' 320 point run in the finals.

We practiced our presentation and filmed it for us to  review. They have all done a great job writing, editing and performing their material. We film Thursday for our TV appearance on the Nottingham TV channel and will be performing it live for the school on Friday! The clock is winding down for competition and it seems  we still have so much to do.

Emergency preparedness you say? Why lets talk to Nottingham's Emergency Response Manager, and Chief of Police, Officer Gunnar Foss. It was great for the kids to interact and ask questions about our town pertaining to our research project. Team Proteus would like to extend a huge "Thank You" to Chief Foss for taking the time to meet with us. We are so grateful for what they do day in and day out to keep our community safe.
